Pranayama is the ancient yogic practice of breath regulation. “Prana” means life force, and “ayama” means extension. Through conscious breathing, we expand our life energy and bring balance to the body and mind. It is a gateway to mindfulness, healing, and emotional resilience. Beginner-friendly steps we’ll explore: • Awareness of the breath – simply observing your natural rhythm. • Diaphragmatic (belly) breathing – calming the nervous system. • Box breathing – for focus and mental clarity. • Alternate nostril breathing (Nadi Shodhana) – balancing left and right energies. • Ujjayi breath – ocean-like breath for grounding and inner warmth. • Guided breath meditation – to finish in peace and presence.
